Scuzzphut6 v2
As promised, this old-timer has been spruced up with a spanking new GUI by the seriously talented Anders Kisling and a thorough code cleanup under the hood.
Scuzzphut6 is a free VST plugin for windows, featuring a flexible trancegate and two delay lines, each with it’s own filter and LFO.
The trancegate section features :
- click-n-drag activation of the gate steps
- step ties to link steps
- attack/decay and shuffle controls
Each of the two delay lines features :
- tempo synchronization
- hp/lp filter
- LFO routable to both pan and filter cutoff.
A mixer section rounds things off and remember – you can switch off the gate and just use scuzzphut6 as a spacey delayifier !

Phatbeatz – Context Pattern Menu
Another new feature coming up in the next version of phatbeatz is a simple little timesaver - a context menu for building patterns.
This right-click menu has presets for some basic pattern building blocks as well as tools to copy the current pattern for that sample, or for all samples, to the second bar of the pattern. Phatbeatz patterns can be one or two bars long, so if you create a one-bar pattern, then decide it needs a bit of variation you can quickly expand it to two identical bars, then tweak the second bar.
So, to sum up the new features coming soon in Phatbeatz v1.2
- Midi Out
- Render Pattern to WAV
- Drag WAV to host
- Pattern building blocks
- Pattern copy tools

Phatbeatz - Drumloop WAV Drag-n-Drop
This video shows a major new feature in the upcoming 1.2 update of Phatbeatz - Drumloop WAV Drag-n-Drop.
This allows you to render a wav file of your drum pattern and drag it into your host.
It’s a great way to create a bunch of complementary loops and variations quickly and easily. You could even unload phatbeatz to save some CPU and arrange your track more visually with the WAV loops.
Updates are free to registered users, so Phatbeatz owners can look forward to these new features soon.

Phatbeatz Midi Out Demo
Here’s a quick video demo showing the new Midi Out feature coming up in the next version of Phatbeatz.
The phatbeatz instruments are mapped to GM standard drum midi notes, so there’s no messing about to get it working - just hook up the midi-out of phatbeatz to the midi-in of the plugin you want to control.
This feature, combined with the Midi drag-n-drop feature already available, makes Phatbeatz a pretty useful Midi tool on top of all itt’s other features.
PS -
It looks like the next Phatbeatz update will be a pretty major one, because rendering of beats (with drag and drop to host) is included, too. I’ll post a video of that in action soon.

Switchphilter
Here’s a plugin I created in response to this KvR thread.
I was reminded of it by this post on Create Digital Music and thought I’d upload it again.
It’s a combined LP / HP filter with a single cutoff control - much like you would find on some DJ mixers. The filter type changes from LP to HP as the cutoff knob passes 12 o’clock.
There are only two knobs - cutoff and resonance - and the plugin uses your hosts built-in GUI.

scuzzphut6
The Grandaddy!
The elder statesman of trancegates will return soon …….
Scuzzphut6 comprises a sophisticated pattern based gate, followed by two filtered delays
- Step sequenced gate with ties and shuffle control
- Two independent filter / delay racks follow the gate
- hp/lp filters with cutoff and resonance controls.
- Tempo synced delays with feedback and level controls
- Tempo synced LFOs can be routed to delay pan and filter cutoff
Put a long sweeping synth through the gate for a trancey chopped up rhythm.Add tempo synched and filtered delays with LFO modulating both pan and cutoff, resulting in a complex groovefest.
Coming soon- A fresh GUI by Anders Kisling and a clean up under the hood

rubberizer
This plugin is a front end to the Rubber Band timestretch utility by Chris Cannam.
The user can browse for samples with live preview in the dialog box (through your VST host) , set the time, pitch and crispness settings for the timestretch algorithm using the plugin’s GUI controls and then render the new wav file.
Rendering the wav file invokes Chris’s command line utility with the user’s parameters and a smart-renaming scheme is used for the new sample.
Finally the new , stretched sample can be dragged into the host from the rubberizer gui.
